There are several recognized tests available that measure proficiency in the Swedish language: TISUS, the Certificate in Business Swedish and Swedex.
TISUS
The Test in Swedish for University Studies (TISUS) is intended to establish eligibility for Swedish-language university studies. TISUS includes reading comprehension, oral presentation and written composition. The test fee is SEK 1,600.
The test is held several times a year, both in Sweden and at a number of Swedish embassies/schools outside of Sweden. The fee is SEK 2,000 if the test is taken outside of Sweden. Extra charges may be payable to the embassy, university or school where the test is held.
Stockholm Chamber of Commerce Certificate in Business Swedish
The Certificate in Business Swedish was established by the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce. Tests can be taken at Företagsuniversitetets office in Stockholm, Sweden. Examinations can also be held outside Sweden if there are sufficient applicants.
Swedex
A new series of examinations measures Swedish language competency for non-native speakers. Funded in part by the European Commission, the standardized examinations are conducted regularly in Sweden and throughout Europe. You can find more information about Swedex on its website.
