Application procedure for the Swedish Institute Study Scholarships

The application period for Swedish Institute Study Scholarships was March 20, 2012 – March 28, 2012.

The online application form is now closed. A link to the scholarship results will be published on the Study Scholarships main page by the end of April 2012.

Before applying for a scholarship:

1. Apply to a study program at a Swedish university by using the online application service at www.universityadmissions.se. The application period lasts between December 1, 2011 and January 16, 2012. Eligible programs for a scholarship are listed here.

Only applications from students who have been admitted to a study program by a Swedish university will be considered for a scholarship. When applying for scholarship, please state your application number that you can find by logging in to your account at universityadmissions.se or in the admission letter for your study program.

2. Prepare enclosures (mandatory)

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) of one page maximum. Additional pages will not be considered.
  • Motivation letter. Has to be completed by using the Swedish Institute template found here.

Apply through the online application service

The deadline has passed and it is no longer possible to apply.

Use the personal application number found in the admission letter for your study program. Don’t forget to submit your enclosures.

Only complete applications from students who have been admitted or conditionally admitted to a study program by a Swedish university will be considered. Those on the waiting list with "reserve" status are unable to apply, as their possible admittance will be determined first in April, which is too late for the scholarship process.
Even bachelor’s level applicants, whose results will be published first on March 23, should apply between the above dates. All applicants will be verified for admittance with University Admissions after the application deadline.

What happens next with my application for a scholarship?

1. The Swedish Institute will evaluate your application between March 29 and April 15, 2012.
2. SI will announce a list of successful scholarship candidates at www.studyinsweden.se by the end of April, 2012.
3. Each successful candidate will receive an official scholarship offer by e-mail and is requested to accept or reject this offer.
4. Please observe that you also have to accept your place at the study program at www.universityadmissions.se.
