While the application process may vary slightly depending on which university or university college you apply to, the general procedure is as follows:
To find full study programs at the bachelor’s level, we recommend that you use our program database.
To apply for an undergraduate degree program or an individual course you should use the online application system at www.studera.nu, which processes your application.
Application deadlines may vary but are usually set in mid-January for the following autumn term, and in mid-August for courses starting in the spring term. Information and any program-specific application forms are available from the institutions themselves. The first notices of admission are sent out in March and November, respectively. More information can be found at Studera.nu.
Most foreign students will also need to obtain a visa and residence permit before leaving for Sweden (students from Nordic or EU/EEA countries do not need a residence permit, but must (in the case of non-Nordic EU) register with the Swedish Migration Board upon arrival.)
Note that this can cause some difficulty, as visa processing times can be long. You should apply for your student visa or residence permit as soon as you have received notification of acceptance.
